Registration & Academic Advising

At Plekhanov University, we recognize the paramount importance of academic counseling in your educational journey. We mandate that students engage with their academic advisors regularly to ensure a well-rounded educational experience and navigate University policies and procedures effectively. To foster successful learning outcomes and student satisfaction, we maintain a faculty of experienced educators who are deeply committed to student progress.

Our academic counselors serve as dedicated mentors, providing ongoing advice to help improve your academic performance. They assist you in reviewing your learning objectives and selecting appropriate courses to ensure academic success.

Plekhanov University has established telephone lines and a dedicated section on the official website to address inquiries related to admission and educational program implementation.

We host Open Door Days several times a year, both in-person and online, allowing applicants and parents to gather essential information about program content, admission requirements, and available resources from University administration and academic administrators.

For undergraduate students, the academic supervisor also serves as an advisor, overseeing coursework, internships, and the final qualification paper. Each undergraduate student is assigned an academic supervisor.

For master's students, the academic supervisor doubles as an advisor, and additional academic supervisors are assigned for the first semester of study. Academic supervisors are appointed at least once a year, and students can access consultations in person, online, or via email, receiving timely responses within three calendar days.

Student Academic Integrity

To maintain academic integrity, all term papers, course works (projects), and internship reports must meet established requirements. These documents are submitted to the department, registered, and assessed by the assigned supervisor, who evaluates and signs them. Students must also include a certified personal signature printout verifying the text's originality using the "Anti-

Plagiarism" system employed at the University. The supervisor provides feedback on the coursework within five working days of its registration.

Coursework is eligible for defense under specific conditions. Originality assessments must meet criteria, with the minimum originality threshold being 50% for bachelor's and specialist degree programs and 70% for master's degree programs. Teachers will not evaluate coursework that fails to meet these criteria.

For final qualifying works conducted in English, assessments consider the extent of borrowing, including substantial content and identification of unauthorized borrowings. Originality thresholds for such works are set at a minimum of 50% for bachelor's and specialist degree programs and 70% for master's degree programs.

At Plekhanov University, we place immense value on academic integrity, and this policy ensures that your academic journey is characterized by excellence and adherence to the highest standards.

Master Thesis

Embarking on your degree journey at Plekhanov University culminates in the thesis, a significant academic endeavor. Each year, our educational programs' academic heads craft thesis topics, a process overseen by the Students and Faculties Development Unit. As a student, you enjoy the privilege of selecting a topic from the approved list or proposing one of your own, provided it aligns with your program's direction and is substantiated as feasible.

We encourage you to choose a subject that captivates your interest, offers access to real data, and has relevant sources available. Leveraging library catalogs, web resources, periodicals, and research materials will be invaluable in your selection.

Upon initiating your master thesis, a dedicated scientific supervisor, and, if necessary, a consultant from PRUE's faculty will be appointed to guide you. You'll work closely together to refine your topic's title (pending approval), receive counsel on its progression, establish a work plan, identify informational resources, and structure your research schedule.

Throughout your thesis preparation, your supervisor will offer guidance, ensuring alignment with content and formatting requirements. However, please note that supervisors are not editors or co-authors and won't handle spelling or stylistic errors. After submitting your final thesis version, your supervisor will provide a written review within three workdays.

It's important to emphasize that all master theses undergo mandatory external review. The Students and Faculties Development Unit may opt to anonymize your work, excluding author names, scientific supervisors, and other personal details. An external reviewer then conducts a comprehensive analysis and furnishes a written review.
