On September 9th, the preparatory week began for the students at Plekhanov University in Dubai. This week is filled with various activities, including an introduction to the campus and its facilities: the study area, library, transfer station, shopping centers, food court, and sports facilities.

'Today, we welcome our first cohort of students to the Plekhanov University branch. The students have demonstrated strong performance in the entrance examinations, reflecting their high level of preparedness. Being the first is both an honor and a responsibility,' stated Svetlana Malkarova,Chairperson of Plekhanov University in Dubai.

During this week, Maria Zarudnaya, Deputy Director of the Higher School of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Senior Lecturer at Plekhanov University, will familiarize students with the cultural characteristics and national traditions of the UAE. She will also conduct preparatory English courses on 'Intercultural Communication' to better equip students for the academic week commencing on September 16th.

Svetlana Malkarova has helped shape youth policy and education aimed at developing high ethical principles, responsibility, diligence and self-discipline in students. 

Plekhanov University proudly welcomes its first students to the new branch in Dubai. Being the first is always a great responsibility, and the level of this year's admitted students has already set a high standard for the branch. Among the enrollees are medalists and graduates who scored top marks in their final exams.

On 14 July, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced a major cabinet reshuffle. A crucial change was the appointment of Sarah Al-Amiri as Minister of Education in the United Arab Emirates.

Plekhanov University in Dubai is launching four educational programs—two for undergraduate studies ("Finance" and "Marketing") and two for graduate studies ("Corporate Finance" and "Digital Business").  Two tuition-free – grant spots are provided for each program.

This milestone opens new horizons for Russian and international students, offering them unique opportunities for learning and development in one of the world's most dynamically evolving cities. The university continues to expand its global presence, strengthening its position within the international academic community.

Dubai, 25 May 2024—Plekhanov University successfully held its first Open Day event at the well-known Dubai Knowledge Park. This landmark event, which took place on 25 May at the Conference Center—Block 1, offered prospective students and their parents an unparalleled opportunity to explore the university's diverse academic offerings and vibrant campus life.

At the panel session “Career opportunities in the UAE for Plekhanov Russian University of Economics students”, organized by the branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics at the international education exhibition GETEX, speakers formulated the strategic principle of the Advisory Board of Plekhanov University: collaboration with government authorities, public organizations and businesses lays down positive development prospects for the branch.
