Strategies session “Youth Diplomacy: Uniting Efforts for Sustainable Development”
On October 28, Plekhanov University in Dubai hosted a strategic session titled "Youth Diplomacy: Uniting Efforts for Sustainable Development." The event brought together students eager to contribute to the solution of global sustainable development challenges through international cooperation.
Participants included students from Plekhanov University in Dubai and representatives of the international Change The World Model UN, comprising students from MGIMO of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the BRICS School. The discussion addressed key issues such as the role of education in international relations, Russian youth diplomacy within the UN, and the development of leadership skills on global educational platforms.
The session was moderated by Roman Chukov, a program expert from the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, who emphasized the significance of initiatives led by young diplomats in the field of sustainable development.
Egor Zhukovski, alumnus of REU and Operations Director at Keep In Touch, remarked, "Sustainable development is our responsibility to future generations and an opportunity to maintain a balance between nature and progress. By uniting our efforts, we can create a world where development does not come at the expense of the environment."
The event took place at Dubai Knowledge Park with the support of the Center for International Promotion Fund and the UNESCO Chair at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, reaffirming the importance of youth participation in building a future based on the principles of sustainable development and international cooperation.
